Concept<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Many international students stay in Ilmenau for Christmas. That's why we plan together with Support network we4you at the TU Ilmenau<\/strong><\/a> a Christmas Exchange<\/strong>. We place international students with hosts (e.g. families, fellow students from Germany) who invite them to their Christmas party or one of the Christmas holidays. We also plan additionally Program for students at Christmas<\/strong> and about the turn of the year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Christmas Exchange 2025<\/strong><\/h4>\n
For Hosts<\/strong><\/h5>\n

When you have the willingness<\/strong> to invite one or more students<\/strong> for a day or longer<\/strong> to your home during the holidays, <\/strong>please, register here<\/a><\/strong>.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Even if you celebrate outside of Ilmenau<\/strong>, you are welcome to take part in the exchange \u2013 many students are also willing to come to you.
We will then put you in touch with the international students who have registered with us.
You can decide personally what you invite the international students to - whether for a coffee, a walk, to give presents or even with an overnight stay. Not only can you get to know people from other parts of the world, but you can also Christmas traditions exchange.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We will then bring you together with the hosts who have registered with us. So you have the possibility to spend Christmas in company<\/strong> and
the hosts decide what they invite you to - whether for a coffee, a walk, for presents or even for an overnight stay. They will definitely be happy about a small gift from you.<\/p>\n

Deposit<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

Based on our experience in the last years, we operate a deposit system<\/strong> whereby you must hand over a 10 \u20ac deposit in cash<\/strong> to participate in the program.<\/div>\n

Conditions to get the deposit back<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
You can get your deposit back latest by January 31, 2026<\/strong> in the following cases:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • Successful participation in the program after matching<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  •  If the organizers were unable to find a host<\/strong><\/span>  <\/span><\/li>\n
  • If you cancel your participation in the program latest by December 17 (7 days before Christmas) by emailing christmas@iswi.org<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Short-term illness with immediate notification to the organizers by email to christmas@iswi.org before the event<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In all other cases, the deposit will be retained<\/strong>as a processing fee for the administrative extra-work carried out by the organizers.<\/p>\n

    • Wed, Dec 10: coffee2meet: 3-4 pm bc-caf\u00e9<\/li>\n
    • Wed, Dec 10: English language meeting: 6 – 7:30 pm bc-club<\/li>
    • Wed, Dec 10: German language meeting: 7 – 8:30 pm bi-club<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
