„ISWI“ steht f\u00fcr „Initiative Solidarische Welt Ilmenau“. Wir sind ein von Studierenden gegr\u00fcndeter Verein, der sich f\u00fcr Frieden, V\u00f6lkerverst\u00e4ndigung sowie internationale Gesinnung und Toleranz einsetzt.<\/p>

Unser gr\u00f6\u00dftes Projekt ist die „International Student Week in Ilmenau“ (ebenfalls „ISWI“). Dieses gr\u00f6\u00dfte internationale Studierendentreffen seiner Art in Deutschland wird seit 1993 im Zweijahres-Rhythmus an der Technischen Universit\u00e4t Ilmenau durchgef\u00fchrt. Diese Treffen dienen dazu, die Toleranz gegen\u00fcber anderen Kulturkreisen zu f\u00f6rdern, indem sich Studierende aus v\u00f6llig unterschiedlichen Regionen der Erde kennenlernen und miteinander ins Gespr\u00e4ch kommen. Zehn Tage lang sprechen sie \u00fcber aktuelle und wichtige Themen. Sie tauschen Meinungen aus, diskutieren und versuchen gemeinsam, L\u00f6sungsm\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr bestehende Probleme zu finden. Ganz klar, dass wir mit diesen Studierendenwochen auch ein Zeichen gegen Rassismus und andere Formen der Diskriminierung setzen wollen.<\/p>

We have approximately 40 active members. Additionally, there are numerous inactive members who continue to support us. As we prepare for larger projects, many more volunteers join forces with us.<\/p>

Our association is also the Local Erasmus Initiative at the TU Ilmenau. As LEI Ilmenau, our events also have the goal of preparing outgoing Erasmus students for their stay abroad. In addition, we want to bring incoming Erasmus students together with our events and integrate them into the intercultural campus.<\/p>

ISWI e.V. has been a long-standing member of the District Youth Association (KJR). The KJR focuses its work on the promotion and further development of youth work in the district. It represents the interests of its members to the public, representative bodies and authorities. It is important for ISWI to ensure that all people live and work together, especially on the campus of the TU Ilmenau - but also to promote the exchange and support to foreign and German people. At ISWI e.V., we regularly bring this interest into the district youth group. There we work with other associations and initiatives, share our projects and also receive great support from the other member associations in organizing our International Student Week.<\/p>

Au\u00dferdem sind wir Teil des SOrCE-Netzwerks (Students Organizing Conventions Everywhere), in welchem wir mit verschiedenen Vereinen und Institutionen organisiert sind, die \u00e4hnliche Konferenzen und Festivals wie die ISWI organisieren. Das Ziel der Gr\u00fcndung dieses Netzwerks war es, eine Basis f\u00fcr die Zusammenarbeit zu schaffen, sich gegenseitig bei der Organisation zu helfen und voneinander zu lernen. SORCE ist ein loses Netzwerk – es hat weder einen Leiter noch einen Vorstand – SORCE ist dort, wo eines seiner Mitglieder ist. Vielleicht wird sich das eines Tages \u00e4ndern und es wird eine echte Organisation gegr\u00fcndet. Aber bisher konnten die wenigen Versuche, eine solche „echte“ Organisation zu gr\u00fcnden, nicht verwirklicht werden (auch weil das Personal der verschiedenen Verb\u00e4nde st\u00e4ndig wechselt.<\/p>

The administration of our organisation (membership management and accounting) is supported by the easyVerein association software. They support non-profit aid organisations with a 50% discount on the subscription to their software.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
