What is going on in Colombia?

Unter dem Titel “What is going on in Colombia?” lädt der ISWI e.V. am Dienstag, dem 18.10.2016, um 19 Uhr zu einem Vortrag in den Seminarraum 117 des Humboldtbaus auf dem Campus der TU Ilmenau ein. Natalia Angulo Mejia, Studentin im englischsprachigen Master Media and Communication Science (Medien und Kommunikationswissenschaft) und selbst Kolumbianerin, spricht über den Verlauf der Friedensverhandlungen zwischen der FARC-Guerilla und der kolumbianischen Regierung. Sie hat den Friedensprozess in den letzten Monaten aus kommunikationswissenschaftlicher Sicht beobachtet und ihre Master-Arbeit zu diesem Thema verfasst. Der Vortrag wird in englischer Sprache erfolgen, alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen.

• Referentin: Natalia Angulo Mejia (M.A.): “I am Colombian and I have an academic interest in the Colombia’s peace negotiations and the role national media have played through its coverage. I am not an expert, but due to my thesis research project, I got a lot of insights about the conflict and the negotiations from academics and the media. As a result of the events occurred in Colombia and the international media attention, I would like to share some facts that help contextualizing and understanding the news barrage of the last days.”
